Laser therapy, also called photobiomodulation, is a technique that uses specific frequencies of light to combat swelling, increase circulation in the treated areas, and help relieve different muscle pains. Our class IV therapeutic laser delivers high-powered infrared energy to penetrate deeper into targeted areas.
What’s the science behind laser therapy? How does it work?
Class IV laser therapy penetrates deep and efficiently to pass energy to the affected area’s nerves, muscles, ligaments and tendon tissue. Laser therapy stimulates the production of adenosine triphosphate, also known as ATP, which drives many of the processes within our cells. This increase in the production of ATP speeds up the healing process within our cells that in turn creates a therapeutic effect.
How long does laser therapy take?
Laser therapy is a quick treatment that can last up to 15 minutes, depending on the size of the area, to give you the best possible results.
