Frequently Asked Questions About Community Events
What community events does Simply Southern Chiropractic Center offer?
Simply Southern Chiropractic Center offers workplace wellness events that bring mini-massages and quick posture screenings to local businesses and organizations. These events are free and designed to give employees a short, quiet break during a busy workday. Rather than asking staff to travel to an appointment, the practice plans each event and brings its services directly to the host organization’s workplace. It is also a great opportunity for us to educate the community about the many health benefits of chiropractic care.
What types of organizations can host a community event?
Community events are open to organizations throughout the Greenville and Greer area. Simply Southern Chiropractic Center has hosted community wellness events in small businesses, large businesses, non-profit organizations, and even some of our local schools. The only requirement is that your organization can set aside a quiet room for the event. The only additional information we need is the size of your organization or company, which can be selected on the online form above.
What happens at a Simply Southern Chiropractic Center community event?
Community events are free for the host organization, and our practice handles the arrangements as part of its community outreach in the Upstate. About a week in advance, Simply Southern will send an electronic sign-up sheet for the host organization’s employees and/or members with two 15-minute slots running from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm, along with an informational flyer for staff. On the day of the event, the team sets up and breaks down everything. Each participant sits in a chair for a mini-massage delivered with a hand-held massager, followed by a quick posture screening.
What does an organization need to provide for a community event?
A quiet, open space is the only requirement. Simply Southern Chiropractic Center handles the organizing, so the host company or organization, and its employees, only need to show up. A conference room or similar enclosed area works well, since the events are meant to offer a moment of calm in the middle of the workday.
Is a workplace posture screening the same as a chiropractic exam?
Not quite. A posture screening is a brief, non-diagnostic check of posture and alignment, while a chiropractic exam is a comprehensive clinical evaluation. The screenings offered at Simply Southern Chiropractic Center’s community events can highlight patterns an employee may want to discuss with a chiropractor, but they do not diagnose a condition. Employees who want a full chiropractic exam can schedule a new patient visit at the Greenville or Greer office, where the first appointment typically focuses on health history and any necessary X-rays before an adjustment is performed.
Why would an employer host a community event?
Hosting a community event is one way for employers to support staff health in the setting where employees spend much of their week. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) notes that well-designed workplace health programs can help employees reduce health risks and enjoy a better quality of life.1 Posture is also a practical focus: the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) says that poor posture is one of the main contributors to work-related musculoskeletal disorders, which affect the muscles, nerves, joints, and spinal discs.
How can an organization line up a community event?
Organizations can request an event by completing the inquiry form found above with a contact name, phone number, email address, organization name, and preferred event date. You can also include additional details about the event, such as your goals for your company and employees. A member of the practice’s team then follows up to discuss the details. You can also contact us by sending an email to marketing@simplysouthernchiro.com.
