Mary Frances Duncan, D.C.
Dr. Mary Frances Duncan is a native of Greer, South Carolina and attended Furman University in Greenville, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. After receiving her degree, she quickly realized that she wanted to do something more with her career and went in a different direction entirely. Having gone to a chiropractor regularly growing up, she decided she wanted to spend her life helping other people lead healthier lives using a natural approach, just as her chiropractor had done for her. After her undergraduate studies, she attended the Port Orange, Florida campus of Palmer College of Chiropractic, where she obtained her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. After four years at Palmer, she returned to the Upstate to keep her friends and neighbors on the path to good health.
Wesley A. Robbins, D.C.
Having received regular chiropractic care throughout his teens and early adulthood, Dr. Robbins recognized his passion for the chiropractic profession and, after shadowing multiple licensed chiropractors throughout his undergraduate degree, decided to attend chiropractic school at Logan University. Dr. Robbins was amazed after witnessing the positive patient outcomes and intentional relationships that developed within his new-found profession.
Sophia D. Wright, D.C.
Dr. Sophia Wright was born and raised in Greer, South Carolina. She attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. She later went on to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, Florida, where she obtained her Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
She discovered her passion for health care while attending the University of South Carolina. After her undergraduate studies were complete, she began working at Simply Southern Chiropractic Center as a chiropractic assistant. During her four years as a chiropractic assistant, she found purpose in being a part of a team that helped her people in her community improve their quality of life through a holistic approach to health care. Dr. Wright knew that her niche was within the chiropractic profession and that she had found her calling to become a chiropractor.

Are the doctors at Simply Southern Chiropractic Center licensed?
Yes, all chiropractors serving at our offices earned Doctor of Chiropractic degrees from colleges accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education and hold active licenses with the South Carolina Board of Chiropractic Examiners—meeting all requirements associated with that licensure.1
Does any doctor at the practice have specialized training in X-ray imaging?
Yes, Dr. Wright and Dr. Duncan both completed the Black Coat Program at Palmer College of Chiropractic, which provided advanced training in radiology and hands-on experience with X-ray imaging. However, all of Simply Southern Chiropractic Center’s doctors are experienced in taking X-ray images, reading X-ray images, and writing detailed X-ray radiological reports.
How long has Simply Southern Chiropractic Center served the Upstate?
Simply Southern Chiropractic Center opened its original Greenville location in 2015 and opened a second office in Greer in 2020.

How long do chiropractors go to school before beginning practice?
Chiropractors must graduate with a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college prior to attending chiropractic school. Chiropractic schools are specialized post-graduate colleges that award Doctor of Chiropractic degrees to candidates who successfully complete all degree requirements. The length of time a student spends in chiropractic school varies from one chiropractic school to another due to different schools using different academic calendars, but it is roughly a 3.5- to 4-year course of study. Counting undergraduate studies, a chiropractor attends 7.5 to 8 years of school prior to beginning their career.
Do chiropractors have to take any standardized tests prior to being licensed to practice chiropractic?
Yes, in South Carolina, after graduating with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from an accredited chiropractic school, chiropractors must pass Parts I, II, III, and IV of the NBCE Chiropractic Board Exams. NBCE stands for National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, the governing body that oversees the administration of chiropractors’ board exams.
Part I is the Basic Sciences Examination, which covers six subjects: general anatomy, spinal anatomy, physiology, chemistry, pathology, and microbiology. It is typically taken during the second year of chiropractic school.
Part II is the Clinical Sciences Examination, which consists of six subjects: general diagnosis, neuromusculoskeletal diagnosis, diagnostic imaging, principles of chiropractic, chiropractic practice, and associated health sciences. It is typically taken during the third year of chiropractic school.
Part III is the Clinical Applications Examination. This exam presents fact patterns, or “vignettes,” regarding hypothetical patients, including case histories, physical examinations, diagnostic imaging, and clinical laboratory tests, and asks candidates to demonstrate sound clinical judgment by taking all of that information and determining the appropriate course of treatment for the hypothetical patients.
Part IV is the Practical Examination. This exam is a hands-on, practic exam that tests candidates’ competence in using proper chiropractic technique when adjusting patients, interpreting diagnostic imaging (including X-rays), and case management.
In addition to all the above, prior to licensure, South Carolina chiropractors must also pass the South Carolina Board of Chiropractic Examiners Ethics and Jurisprudence Examination. This is a state-specific exam that covers the statutes, regulations, and ethical standards that apply to chiropractors in South Carolina.
While not required in South Carolina, the vast majority of chiropractors in the United States also must pass the NBCE Physiotherapy exam. All doctors employed by Simply Southern Chiropractic Center have taken and passed the NBCE Physiotherapy exam.
